Wallets & Self-Custody
Choosing the right wallet depends on one thing first: which form of POKT are you holding? Native POKT on Pocket’s mainnet requires different wallet software than wrapped wPOKT on Ethereum, Base, or Solana.
Quick Reference — Which Wallet for Which Token?
| Wallet | Native POKT | wPOKT (Ethereum/Base) | wPOKT (Solana) | Hardware Support |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Soothe Vault | ✓ | ✓ | ✗ | ✗ |
| Keplr | ✓ | ✗ | ✗ | Ledger |
| Leap | ✓ | ✗ | ✗ | Ledger |
| MetaMask | ✗ | ✓ | ✗ | Ledger, Trezor |
| Rabby | ✗ | ✓ | ✗ | Ledger |
| Phantom | ✗ | ✗ | ✓ | Ledger |
Soothe Vault — Recommended for Most POKT Holders
Soothe Vault is the wallet built specifically for the Pocket Network ecosystem. It’s the only browser extension that supports both native POKT and wPOKT (EVM) in a single interface.
Developed by Decentralized Authority, open source (github.com/trustsoothe/vault), available for Chrome and Firefox.
Key features: Native POKT and wPOKT in one vault, AES-256 encryption with local storage, MFA support, LavaMoat supply-chain protection, built-in Shannon migration tool.
See the full Soothe Vault Setup Guide for installation and usage.
Keplr and Leap — Cosmos Ecosystem Wallets
Since Pocket Network is built on the Cosmos SDK, both Keplr and Leap support native POKT natively via the Cosmos chain registry. They do not support wPOKT on Ethereum or Solana — use MetaMask or Rabby alongside them for EVM chains.
Adding Pocket Network: Open your wallet → chain selector → search “Pocket” → add the chain. Your pokt1... address is automatically generated from your existing seed phrase.
Keplr offers browser extension + mobile, Cosmos ecosystem support, and Ledger hardware support. Leap offers a more modern UI and is often considered friendlier for new Cosmos users.
EVM Wallets for wPOKT
wPOKT on Ethereum and Base is a standard ERC-20 token — compatible with any EVM wallet. MetaMask, Rabby, and Coinbase Wallet are the most commonly used.
Adding wPOKT to your wallet: Navigate to “Import Token” or “Add Custom Token” → paste the verified wPOKT contract address from CoinGecko → confirm.
Never copy token contract addresses from social media or DMs. Always verify on CoinGecko or Etherscan.
Solana Wallets for wPOKT
wPOKT on Solana exists as an SPL token, supported by Phantom and Solflare.
Hardware Wallet Support
Hardware wallets keep your private keys on a physical device — the most secure option for significant holdings. Ledger supports native POKT via the Cosmos app (used with Keplr or Leap) and wPOKT via the Ethereum app. Trezor supports wPOKT only (via MetaMask). See the Hardware Wallet Guide for full setup instructions.
Which Wallet Should I Use?
| I want to… | Recommended wallet |
|---|---|
| Hold native POKT with the simplest setup | Soothe Vault |
| Hold native POKT in the Cosmos ecosystem | Keplr or Leap |
| Hold wPOKT and use DeFi on Ethereum/Base | MetaMask or Rabby |
| Hold wPOKT on Solana | Phantom |
| Maximum security for large holdings | Ledger + companion wallet |
| Manage both native POKT and wPOKT | Soothe Vault (or Keplr + MetaMask) |
Wallet Security Essentials
Seed phrase rules: Write it on paper. Never save it digitally. Store offline in multiple secure locations. Test your backup before sending significant funds.
Avoiding scams: Always navigate directly to official wallet domains. Wallet support teams never DM you. Only install from the official Chrome Web Store or Firefox Add-ons. Use revoke.cash to review and revoke unnecessary token approvals.
