Launch Roadmap

Launch milestones and the roadmap ahead.

Testnet Launch Highlights

  • Structured in phases with focus on testing, iteration, and community involvement.

  • Priorities: Permissionless demand scalability, governance parameter support, visibility tooling, and operator onboarding.

  • March 28, 2025: Shannon entered soft launch ('shadow genesis'), producing its first blocks.

  • Early April 2025: Ecosystem onboarding began with explorers, validators, exchange support, IBC integration, and gateway SDK launches.

Mainnet Launch

We call the event of the Hard Fork: “State Shift Day”

  • June 3, 2025: Pocket Network hard-forked from Morse to Shannon, officially launching Shannon Mainnet.

  • Transition included snapshotting Morse state, transforming into Shannon’s genesis, enabling token claims, disabling Morse incentives, and shifting traffic to Shannon.

Post-Upgrade Confirmation

  • Shannon Mainnet launch transformed Pocket into the first permissionless Open API network, extending beyond RPC to decentralized access for AI, cross-chain apps, and public data.

Post-Shannon Development (Next 12 Months)

Engineering roadmap priorities include: 1. Enterprise-ready infrastructure (light clients, optional on-chain TEE/KYC metadata). 2. Universal Web3 API infra (on-chain service discovery, relay tracking, surge pricing, fallback suppliers). 3. Tooling & distribution (default supplier/gateway setup, SDKs, templates).

Next we will look at the different roles inside Pocket. With Shannon live and the roadmap for the next year laid out, we've aligned incentives across applications, gateways, suppliers, and data sources. In the next section, we’ll take a closer look at these key actors — how they participate, what value they create...
