Staking $POKT
6. Putting $POKT to Work: Staking
Pocket’s design makes sure that every token staked is tied to real work being done. Your stake has to be connected to a node that is actively relaying requests.
There are multiple ways to use your $POKT holdings:
Join a Staking Pool (Beginner-friendly):
Pools let you stake without meeting the 15,000 POKT minimum or running infrastructure. They’re custodial, so you’ll want to do your due diligence, but they’re the simplest entry point.
Pay a Node Runner (Intermediate):
If you hold enough tokens but don’t want to manage infrastructure, you can contract a professional operator. They run the node, you supply the stake, and you share the rewards.
Run Your Own Node (Advanced):
For those with DevOps skills and at least 15,000 POKT, running your own node offers the most sovereignty. You control the setup, keep the full rewards, and directly contribute to the network’s resilience.
We will link a fully up-to-date tutorial here once it’s ready
Each path has tradeoffs, but all ensure that your $POKT is working to support the flow of unstoppable open data.
